Recently released transcripts of congressional testimony now raise the specter that the FBI also used Nellie Ohr’s opposition research in the FISA applications.
Last year, Rep. Devin Nunes exposed the Department of Justice’s use of the Hillary Clinton-funded Christopher Steele dossier to obtain orders to surveil former Trump campaign foreign policy advisor Carter Page. Recently released transcripts of congressional testimony now raise the specter that the FBI also used Nellie Ohr’s opposition research in the FISA applications.
Over the last month, Georgia Republican Doug Collins, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, has released a series of transcripts, including that of Department of Justice lawyer Bruce Ohr and his wife Nellie Ohr. In his congressional testimony, Bruce confirmed that he and his wife met with former MI6 spy Steele on July 30, 2016, and that during that breakfast meeting Steele shared his initial research on supposed connections between Trump and Russia. Bruce said within days he passed Steele’s information to the FBI’s then-deputy director Andrew McCabe, and that after the FBI terminated Steele as a source, Steele continued to feed Bruce information he relayed to the FBI.

It appears that that research in the dossier was used to get FISA warrants.

Why didn’t she just give the dossier to her husband?

Why did Steele give it to McCabe when he could just say Ohr has it?

Nellie Ohr used her husband, Bruce Ohr, to feed information to the FBI. Bruce Ohr testified that he in essence became Christopher Steele’s handler after the FBI officially “fired” him, but unofficially continued to communicate with him through Bruce Ohr.

Characters could be color-coded. The president could wear a white hat, or a white carnation from Day One. Maybe Jeff Sessions starts off with a white hat, but maybe it gets swapped for gray (and stays gray)in the episode where he recuses himself. You might see a character come in as a "Good Guy" and be highly praised by the president's team -- but the whole time, she just wears black. We know she's a bad apple. But the characters in the show have no idea. And, of course, the media just look like morticians because they never wear anything but black. Except one or two who go on TV wearing blazing white suits while all the other people in the media scoff at them.
Could be educational and entertaining. But they wouldn't make it.

Steele’s role was to invoke him as a foreign source. Foreign intelligence lets the FBI skirt US privacy protections. On top of that, they needed to hide the origin being Hillary’s campaign.

Hams don’t have “handles”, they have call signs, issued by the Federal Communications Commission. The first thing your would-be spy would want, right? To alert the feds and anyone with Google search that they have a ham license?

I’m certainly not here to argue, and I’m not a ham, but I’ve heard the word “handle” used to refer to a ham’s call sign since I was a kid.
