What troops are in harm’s way? He can’t even send arms and intel to the faction of his choice?

chris murphy (cm) was relentless about this on Twitter and now claims a victory over “Trump”

for those of us who don’t know cm, he’s supposed to be representing Connecticut, not al-Qaeda. not a defense of cm

he must be part of it too - enemy of the people

Keep in mind the 60’s antiwar types are in control of the Congress. They forbid any war that kills people.

Give war a chance

As far as this goes, better now than never. Why are we helping Saudi Arabia in wars of aggression against their poverty-stricken neighbor? Saudi Arabia certainly has the means to protect themselves if Yemen invades their territory.

If there are zero US troops in Yemen, then what’s the problem?

Haven’t we learned anything? If ISIS is in Yemen, better we not let them leave than to cause the destabilization we caused in Syria which is why ISIS became such a threat. Assad was never OUR enemy. His country has suffered more from ISIS than any other. Same with Afghanistan. Why are we there? Better to keep the nutcases locked in than all of the lives lost and material resources blown up. Those are resources that would be better used rebuilding our infrastructure.

As a guy who had an Iranian silkworm missile fired at his vessel in the Persian Gulf, I would disagree with you. Yemen controls a bottleneck to the Red Sea, a major world commerce route.

Congress doesn’t want the US to sell arms to those wrascally Saudis, headed by MBS who carved up Khashoggi. The problem is that the Saudis will buy arms from someone else costing us jobs and influence. Virtue signalling is not foreign policy.

Petro Dollar. Its the only reason the KSA and the US get along. They keep the petro dollar the world reserve, we keep them flush with weapons and mercenaries.
If we would have sacked their asses after 9/11, you would see oil bought with a currency other than the US Dollar. It is as simple as that. I don’t like it, but there it is.

Well, call up the FDR precedent.

If we can not sell the Saudi’s arms, lend then

In a similar situation FDR established Lend Lease.

“When a neighbor’s house is on fire, it is neighborly to lend him your hose”

Agreed. And that arms supplier will Russia, China, or EU. None of those are our friends.

Yeah, what is the problem with having a massive military that serves entirely overseas and sows imstability across the globe, and does nothing while the masses displaced by it come teeming over our borders?

We should spend trillions of more dollars to reshape the entire Middle East, I don’t think Europe has been inundated with enough people yet.

I guess Congress is not up to fighting ISIS and Al Queada. Apparently they want to let them be in Yemen.

And the USA

Thomas Jefferson acted against the Barbary pirates over freedom of the seas in the Mediterranean.

Iran in Yemen will control the Red Sea which will control the Suez canal and through it the Med.

Jefferson attacked. Remember.

” from the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli...”

Yes, that Tripoli and US Marines

——Iran in Yemen will control the Red Sea——

The programme of Nancy Pelosi
Iran is irrelevant so long as Trump is President. Trump must be removed and then we can worry about Iran. We can give them money and they will go away.

And Russia could shut down the Baltic to commerce. Or, China could shut down access to the Taiwan strait.

Maybe we should drive them out too.

Or, just maintain the ability to re-open them if needed.

maybe a president will come along and end the proxy wars. For decades the State and CIA have called Iran the number one exporter of terrorism. They have threatened to destroy us and israel. They are developing a bomb and ICBMs to reach europe and eventually the US.

We went to Iraq to kill the guy who threatened Bush’s dad, but we can’t find a reason to destroy the Iranian government. Holding people in check while they do business as usual is bull caca and dangerous as they get stronger and stronger.
