WASHINGTON (AP) — Rejecting a plank of President Donald Trump’s foreign policy, the House on Thursday invoked never-before-used powers to demand that his administration withdraw support from the Saudi-led war in Yemen . The Senate passed the same resolution in March with bipartisan support.

Trump is expected to issue a veto of the measure , his second as president, and Congress does not have the votes to override him.

So after letting Obama and Hillary kill Ghadaffy and loot Libyan assets held in banks in the EU, then go to Syria and arm Isis to try it there, now suddenly and out of the blue, congress wants to start invoking the War Powers Act.....the attacks on Trump are relentless. On the bright side it may limit the next psycho liberal warmonger president that gets in

Is Congress trying for a 0% approval rating?

We need a new party and we need it yesterday. Then we can kick ALL of those vermin out.

I guess Congress is not up to fighting ISIS and Al Queada. Apparently they want to let them be in Yemen.

If it was up to the Dems and RINOs we’d be building the PLA navy a base in Yemen.

Don’t forget Kosovo. And bombing Yugoslavia on Easter Sunday while stopping bombing on Ramadan. That pissed me off then and still does.

This was going on before Trump took office - now look at how the media reports it.

Congressional Democrats are such schmucks!! They really do have no interest at all in the well being of the nation.

"In this case the Congress is doing the right thing."

I have to agree, the meaningless CIA deep state endless wars need to stop. Trump is doing his best to untangle the mess. However I do believe the motives are not to stop the meaningless wars, it is just another attack on trump

It is a really good idea to allow a president to make quick decisions for imposing military might when necessary. By the time congress even got started thinking about it, it would be too late to act.

The catch is that you need a wise and just President and good intel.

We don’t have troops on the ground in Yemen to speak of.

On the other hand, Saudi is trying to prevent Iran from taking over that strategic location on the belly of the middle east with easy access to both red sea and persian gulf.

Sure. Let’s let iran have it. And the golan heights. Why not manhattan, too

So, now the war powers act applies to conduct of foreign policy?

Why does Saudi Arabia need American money to fight in Yemen with they have massive oil wealth?

What was the point in selling all those weapons to them if they can’t even use them?

Seems to me the Saudis are only interested in fighting a war so long as the United States picks up the tab.

Yemen is Obama’s war footprint.....Saudi is fighting it on the ground so we don’t have to.

Obviously Congress still isn’t operating with all cylinders....The Saudi’s aren’t the enemy there Iran is. The Saudi’s are keeping Iran from taking over Yemen.

...”its Imperative to keep Iran out of there”...

Yes it is...very much so. And because the Sauds are fighting on the ground against Iran so I’m very glad it’s the Sauds and not our troops.

US has logistical support in the Yemen conflict...— but no troops on the ground.

Their lawmakers argument is Trump has overstepped his authority by inserting U.S. forces into the conflict without a formal declaration of war.............yet Obama didn’t either and he was dropping bombs!!!

Same old gripe and tactic by the Demorats!
