'Unplanned' Shatters Box Office Estimates In Opening The pro-life film “Unplanned” took in double the estimated ticket sales during its opening weekend and topped Disney’s “Captain Marvel” in per theater sales.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, tracking of ticket sales heading into the movie’s debut weekend suggested “Unplanned” would garner $3 million; however, the Christian-based film ended up earning $6.1 million at the box office, landing it in the top 5.
The movie screened in 1,059 theaters, giving it a per-theater average of $5,770 and putting it slightly ahead of the Disney distributed “Captain Marvel’s” $5,100 tally in 3,985 theaters. The superhero box-office smash was currently in its third week of release, Box Office Mojo reported.
“Unplanned’s” $6.1 million total marks the second-highest debut for the faith-based Pure Flix studio, behind the $7.6 million opening for 2016’s “God’s Not Dead 2.”
“Unplanned” is also the first R-rated movie to be released by Pure Flix, though some in the media argued the rating was meant to hinder its reach. The film tells the story of Abby Johnson, a former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic turned influential pro-life advocate.
“Unplanned” thanked “the people who maliciously and falsely reported UnplannedMovie to @Twitter,” because it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the number of followers skyrocketed from approximately 7,000 before the ban to more than 260,000 as of Monday morning. “Unplanned” will be expanding to 1,700 theaters for its second weekend out.
Big Media will have to do like the NYT “Bestseller” list does and exclude it from categorical comparison to better facilitate their campaign against America.
Let’s see. Using ‘sandyO logic”, it probably did well ticket wise because evil conservative bought 5 or 6 tickets to make it look like a lot of folks went when only 1 or 2 did.
For mercy sakes, go see it!
It exposes the vileness.......the lack of respect and caring.....,,the dangerous lack of physician responsibility.......the careless disregard for life........of Planned Parenthood to the nth degree!

....and this movie absolutely tells the truth!

I (probably) support the movie, but I hate the movie makers promote that Q nonsense. That’s why I wrote “probably”. I think this Q thing is very harmful nonsense.

We saw it on Sunday & highly recommend it. The only way this movie will stay in theaters is if it makes money. Everyone should try to see it ASAP before it gets pulled from theaters. Take a teenager. We drove almost an hour to a theater that’s showing it. I knew Planned Parenthood was DESPICABLE, but it’s worse than that.
I saw unplanned this weekend. It was excellent. Better than Gosnell. Acting was excellent. Small theatre but pretty full.
I was lucky drove 5 miles. Wanted to see it before pulled.

I am surprised no one on the left tried to get movie theatres to ban it. Here in Canada, hoping someone screens it somewhere.
It made more money per screen than the latest superhero movie did. Finished in fourth place for the weekend and is nearly doubling the screen count this weekend.
When we were going in on Saturday, my daughter saw a couple she knew. They had a young lady with them.
It turns out the girl is someone they knew who is considering aborting her baby and accepted their invitation to go. Hopefully she decided to choose life.
Perhaps churches and synagogues could pool their resources to screen it in their places of worship.................
Wow! So glad to hear that girl saw the movie. I believe this movie can change you from pro choice to pro life.
We felt the same way. They will do anything to get this movie out of theaters.

He (StantonDrew) gave 20 1 star ratings in a row, all to movies with Christian themes. I’m not even Christian and I find that offensive. Unplanned gets its point across without disparaging liberals or women in crisis. Stellar writing, stellar performances, and fair representation of events that occurred. A few squeamish scenes but I think most people know what they’re getting into with this one...
