I think you’re right about the impact on the U.S. economy. But I think their calculation is aimed at any negative effect it might have on Trump’s re-election. Whatever dowsnside effect it may have will be magnified many times by the Democrat-Media propaganda machine — probably with the enthusiastic help of Never-Trump RINOS.

Putting the drug cartels out of business with better inspections would make Democrat budget behavior irrelevant. Budget cuts on border patrol and inspection personnel for long walls are also a potential action by Democrats or Republicans. Remember lots of Republican businesses rely on cheap labor. If walls are not patrolled regularly, crossing, cutting or burrowing all become feasible. Also other electronic monitoring equipment and servicing is also needed and costs money.
Even a 5% tariff on remittances would pay for The Wall in one year!
I will NEVER vote for Trump again unless the border issue is solved. The Feds are giving away our home to invaders against the wishes of the vast majority. Trump, are you reading?
Mexicans wire money home, send it snail mail, etc...Just make it illegal to send money to any country South of the Border without Government approval...(which could take years...)

It’s time to stop our destructive out of control immigration problems no matter what it takes. Trump is going to have to be more aggressive and direct when dealing with the republican establishment soon. The future of our country is at stake. The immigration issue will define the future of our country, and the legacy of the Trump administration. Trump will have to take risk, and step up the fight against the enemy within sometime soon. He must do everything possible to make sure he isn’t cheated in 2020, and then go all out in an attempt to salvage as much of the good this country was built on as possible.
The leftist, and deep state establishment, are the enemy within. They still control the vast majority of our government, but not the people. We must defeat them at all cost sooner or later. We need to be more successful at replacing establishment republicans with MAGA republicans in every future election cycle than we have been previously. We have to win in 2020 just to have a chance, because we aren’t going to be allowed to win a national election again under another tyrannical leftist democrat regime. The modern democrat party isn’t merely wrong and corrupt, but something far worse. We aren’t going to have an easy time in 2020 for these reasons. The dirty tactics will go far beyond the usual. Election and voter fraud will play a huge role if it’s not stopped, and it will take a lot more than we’ve ever seen before to make that possible.
Everyone of us need to start preparing to do more than we’ve ever done in a previous election. We can’t afford to lose many battles at this point, but I believe we can still come out on top if step up our fight.

I agree that needs to be done. But The democrats and the media would get judges to cancel all that or any of that.
Trump and with us would need to take over the country militarily to implement all that.
Trump doesn’t need to stop legit trade to stop the invasion. He needs to use his emergency powers to immediately remove illegals as soon as they enter. There should be a constant stream of full charter flights back to Central America loaded with deportees. Instead he’s just doing massive catch and release.
The word is out. Show up at the border and Trump will let you in.
There is a sense of urgency and now that the distraction of the Mueller investigation (of nothing, apparently) is over, this has to be the time for strong action. And the only strong action that makes sense is to fight on all fronts because isolating one problem will just send the rats scurrying to safe ground somewhere else. I don’t mean the migrants by that, I mean the enablers in plain sight on this side of the border.
The only way forward is to fight against all related problems created by the globalist establishment, and to bring the fight to them rather than just trying to deal with their assaults case by case. Even if successful that strategy has no potential to end the problems, just to cope with them.
I think the President is the only leader capable of leading this fight but that leaves us with the necessity to declare the fight underway, if that does not happen soon it will get swept into the chaos of the 2020 primaries, which will be a Democrat freak show of epic proportions but also a vast distraction from reality as the mainstream media and pundits begin their endless dissections of slightly variant forms of madness that add up to the DNC idea of a primary contest.
The real story is that a group of dysfunctionals will choose more or less at random which of them will become the alternative to sensible and responsible government. The end of that process should be a foregone conclusion (a landslide defeat for the “winner”) but throughout, the national emergency situation already apparent at the border will just continue to get worse unless action is taken.
The severe problem Trump faces (and that all face as a result) is that solutions can no longer be found within the normal political process because that in itself is a major cause of the problems. We may have to begin contemplating the necessity of some form of emergency powers and martial law to get things back onto a more sensible track, as the alternative may be a failed state especially after Trump is forced out of office or reaches the legitimate end of his time. If he spends all of that time just fighting their battles on their terms, even if he holds them off, it just postpones the inevitable and who would keep up such a fight beyond 2024, supposing that person managed to get elected?
Time to fight this as the war it is,

Some action items which will show we are serious.
Flood LA with ICE agents and expedite arrests and deportations from LA. Take down the big dog and the pups will cry and pee. LA is the center of La Reconquista the conspiracy to use illegal immigration to “take back” the southwest for mexico. Current leader Senator De leon in Sacramento.
Arrest Gov Nuisance for going to El Salvador last week and sabotaging and conspiring against immigration laws.
Arrest the mayor of Oakland for publishing the ICE assault locations.
Investigate Senator De Leon for aiding his illegal relatives to come here and stay. By his own admission in the floor of the Cal legislature .
Arrest the sheriffs and chief’s of police of LA who don’t inform ICE when they release those who are here illegally from jail.
Send hundreds of ICE and FBI agents to illegals rallies in the states and arrest and deport as many as you can ID at the scene. Nationalize the guard to protect ICE,
Publish a list of sanctuary cities and crimes committed in those cities by illegals and the names of the mayor, city councils and the chiefs or sheriffs.
Put 25,000 marines sitting among the 90,000 at Pendleton on the border. Order them to establish physical and chemical and other non-lethal methods to keep people from stepping on US soil.
Withdraw all funds to sanctuary cities and tell judges to bite me.’
Run on and support candidates who oppose anchor babies.
Stop taking tough and act like we have a real emergency.
Assign FBI agents to ICE and homeland security to aid in more arrests and deportations.
Send special forces into Mexico to kill drug cartel leaders.
Stop aid to Mexico and countries in Central america tomorrow morning.
Take 25$ out of transfers of funds sent from the US to mexico by private parties.
Personally campaign against republicans who don’t support his actions.,
Move the angel moms to a higher profile in the wh. Establish a hot line to report people here illegally and offer a reward if they are deported.
