Homeland Security will transfer up to 2,000 officers away from the ports of entry to assist the Border Patrol, Homeland Security Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said Monday, escalating the all-hands approach to trying to stop the massive illegal immigration surge.
Ms. Nielsen also ordered Customs and Border Protection to speed up its plans to make migrants wait in Mexico while they demand asylum in the U.S.
She said the moves were stopgaps, and the real solutions must come from Capitol Hill.
But they do offer a chance to dent the surge of migrants that is reaching unprecedented levels of children and families.
“We will not stand idly by while Congress fails to act yet again, so all options are on the table,” Ms. Nielsen said in a statement...

They can’t doo anything but immediately release them, and provide transportation, food and healthcare for them.
Mad dash to catch as many as possible and give them all aid so we don’t have the PR nightmare of another dead girl. It’s all CYA.
I may be old and nearing my last days but I’ll gladly volunteer to go the border and assist when/where I can.
Our country is being invaded and many of those who have been selected by We The People and sent to Washington to “protect” this nation, (read the oath they “swear by”) have been and are continuing to fail in their responsibilities. It is time to go around them (and fire them) and I am ready to take up a role in protecting our borders.

They won’t stop coming until we stop letting them in.
We need a wall because once they are on US soil they just claim asylum. This is just 2000 more officers to process catch and release wetbacks.

Trump needs to act NOW and DHS doesn’t like it, fire them.
I think we should have military exercises along those borders. Bombing practice, Warthog training, anything loud and flashy
Is this reason for optimism? “All options are on the table” sounds good, but how many of those options will be exercised?
Every week that nothing meaningful is done, at least 10,000 gain entry to do whatever they want, whenever they want - on American taxpayer’s dime.
I don’t believe this 10,000 number includes those who overstay their visa’s.

Right, our agents are just serving as Welcome Wagon employees - plugging the illegals into the US benefits system and sending them on their way into the interior where they will be guided by the Democrats in voting illegally in 2020.
