The only constitutional way to use this data is to increase the penalties for a criminal using medium or large caliber arms.
An extra 5 years for 9mm and an extra 10 for .45.
Of course that enhancement will be plea bargained down...
At the New York Slimes, every day is April Fool’s Day.
Time to ban oversized “death” bullets. A fully auto, high capacity death-bullet is any bullet over .17 caliber. Some of these death-bullets have bayonets attached. Each death bullet comes with a bump stock which can turn a fully automatic assault, death gun into a SUPERautomatic, high speed, high capacity, death gun revolver. ~ ap reporter
Professional Hit Men use .22 cal.
Small bullets with high velocity will still be devastating.....remember the Geneva flak about what an M16 round did because of the shock wave it caused in the blood/fluid system...
I paid way too much for these 300gr Hornady Ballistic Tip 45 Long Colt rounds to get rid of them at anything less than 1150 fps.... just sayin’
It’s always obtuse effete effeminate white liberals trying to disarm scary men of color via slapping around us harmless old white dudes who do nothing more than quote the Constitution.
When I read the serious outrage here I am shocked so many don’t realize this is an April Fools prank.
An the knives, and the rocks, and the sticks, and the ropes, and the chains, and the hands...
This could go on forever.
.357 would make you deaf without ear protection. I shot one out in the open desert and my ears rang for an hour.
the most fatalities from single shots belong to .22 rimfire. I remember reading this years ago and I’m sure it still true
Obviously effectiveness isn't the only consideration, but it is important. If bigger really is better at stopping, then I want bigger. There is no reasonable, rational argument the anti-gunners can make that says all other things being equal I should accept a less capable tool for protecting myself and my family. Would they argue I should have less effective smoke detectors in my home? A CO detector that only works some times? Maybe I don't need that fire extinguisher in the kitchen, a bucket of water or baking soda will do. Seat belts and airbags in the car, guess those are optional too.
So sure, if they can prove bigger is better, then there's no reason we shouldn't have better. However, I've seen several studies that show no *statistical* difference in effectiveness between some very common handgun calibers in terms of both stopping an assailant and fatality rates. The researchers seemed thorough and careful in their methodology, and explained the constraints, assumptions, and limitations of their work.
It's April Fools Day all year long at the NY Times.
Now I’m sorry I sold my Desert Eagle 50 A&E. The concussion on this thing about knocks your teeth out.
How do I conceal my .444 Marlin?
Great Chart,
Thanks.
... the human being pulling the trigger.
I’ll break that down
To a Bumper Sticker!
I told you so, O'Connor!
