Republican Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida and Mitt Romney of Utah, with House co-sponsor Ann Wagner of Missouri, unveiled a paid family leave bill on Wednesday, which would require interested new parents to make changes to their Social Security strategy.

Under the legislation, parents can pull forward up to three months of those retirement benefits to use for leave following the birth, or adoption, of a child.

The demonicrats have already “borrowed” $13T form SS so far and have they paid anything back yet. The government has already broken the system.

20% of people won’t make it to 65 to draw SS. I would take it.

Meanwhile, Social Security and Medicare are paying out more than they take in, with future taxpayers footing the bill.

paid family leave is a bigtime program of socialism. Families are happier, more functional, and the child is better off when the mother provides the nurturing and the father is working. That’s the way it was when society was functioning as designed. It is very difficult for employers when dealing with the pregnancies of female employees. How do you fill the positions when the Add to that his new proposal of granting fathers time off as well. Covering for them costs. Hiring temporary employees costs. Prices for unit of production increases. I am opposed to the maternity leave for both parents.

When I was a teenager ——working part time-—Barry Goldwater’s book and None Dare Call It Treason and other conservative books gave me the idea to stop expecting the government to lead all of us by the hand into retirement. Lower our taxes and let us save into interest bearing accounts for retirement. Build the economy with the money.

No, they stole it, then “borrowed” every year from Soc.Sec. and repaid it in the next deficit budget. So “my” retirement money since my teens was not saved or held or invested-—it was spent while I supported the other elderly people.

I worked full time through age 71. Now citizens have to support me and others in our 70s and beyond with a system I never chose to have for the U.S. And new aliens and noncitizen and loafers who don’t feel like getting a job don’t want to pay toward my retirement.

In my stamp collection is a Cuban stamp showing a couple of grateful and delighted oldsters looking at a government retirement check together in Cuba. Just like America./s

Rubio is among my very least favorite Senators.

And that’s saying something. Slimy, smarmy, and reliably on the wrong side of stuff.
