AFAIK, there is nothing AT ALL improper about reaching out to a prosecutor to explain the circumstances of an action for which you have been arrested. In fact, you’d better do that. Is the issue here that Kim Foxx is the wrong person to have contacted and that Tina Tchen is someone who should’ve known better than to reach out to Foxx?

Tina is the plausible cutout.

There was no need for her unless she was trying to pull strings.

Tina Tchen was not “family”.

Tina Tchen said she knows the family.

Tina Tchen is a DC operative of no low station.

The Family, if their attorney was too stupid to do so on their behalf, should have been the ones to directly contact Kim Foxx, with this bright idea of immediately collapsing the Chicago Police investigation and THROWING OUT the District Attorney’s Grand Jury decision to indict on 16 Counts,

Instead the “family” in the guise of Tina Tchen, Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama of Chicago, dares to impose on the state and local Laws and Law Enforcement their dismissal on the entire case and use only federal authority, FBI, who could only indict on federal charges, which in this case penalties would be MUCH lighter, than the penalties for breaking state law.
