Lindsey Graham: 'I Don't Give a Damn' What Rep. Jeffries Says About My Friendship With McCain

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) recently criticized Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for being so friendly with President Trump when he continues to attack the late Sen. John McCain. Graham and McCain were great friends, Jeffries noted, but "then Donald Trump gets elected, and Donald Trump continues to bash John McCain in reprehensible ways, and Lindsey Graham, on the issue, is in the witness protection program.”

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries: "Lindsey Graham spent years as a sidekick to John McCain, and then Donald Trump gets elected and Donald Trump continues to bash John McCain in reprehensible ways, and Lindsey Graham on the issue is in the Witness Protection Program."

As recent as last week, Trump was fuming at McCain for changing his vote on the GOP-led plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. His "no" vote helped derail the bill and in turn left Americans in a precarious position, Trump charged . He also noted on Twitter how McCain sent the uncorroborated Christopher Steele dossier to the FBI, reportedly at the prompting of Sen. Graham.

"I was never a fan of John McCain, and I never will be," Trump concluded.

At this week's House Democratic Caucus press briefing, Jeffries said perhaps Graham should "resolve" the issue of his chumminess with Trump before lecturing Democrats about their role in the Robert Mueller Russia investigation.

"I don't give a damn" what anyone says about his relationship with McCain or Trump, Graham responded during a CNN interview on Wednesday.

The senator refuses to give in to the notion that "the only way to honor Mccain is to trash Trump."

Graham had nothing but kind things to say about the president, who he says "has allowed me into his world."

"He's been good to me," Graham said, and he intends to help Trump be successful.

As long as Graham is solid on a subject, I’ll support him.

When he isn’t, I’ll trash him.

Right now, he’s on the right track.

Jeffries is lost in space.

who he says “has allowed me into his world.”

Maybe Graham has a man crush on Trump.

At least we know he’ll work with him then :)

That or Graham REALLY feels the need to be accepted by SOMEONE.

That’s the important thing, Graham has been supporting POTUS and they’re working together.

I’d like to see many more GOP supporting Trump like Graham has.

That was a pretty strong statement.

He has let me into his world...

Maybe Graham will finish his career on a high note.

Sen. Graham is on the right track with most issues these days, with one exception....

Sen. Graham should NOT have held a hearing about a proposed “Red Flag” law.

Trump’s win showed there were enough voters to put these otherized clowns out of the spotlight after Obama put them front & center for 8 years. Unfortunately the mid-term gains in the House put them right back on our TV screens.

To understand the grief from election night 2016, it wasn’t just the Trump victory that crushed libs; it was the realization that with Republicans controlling both houses of Congress as well, their lunatic agenda (environmentalist, “reparations”, etc.) were simply off the table. I don’t believe they thought he’d reverse anything; they just realized they’d lost the spotlight for their causes du jour. You see that today when the media discusses these issues as though Dems control everything again...

“Sen. Graham should NOT have held a hearing about a proposed “Red Flag” law.”

You hit the target - bullseye.

South Carolina radio is reporting that Graham took a $250,000 bribe (campaign contribution) from the gun-grabber Bloomberg.

It looks like our boy - Graham - is still swayed by political contributions from leftists.

Let us be cautious toward the senator from South Carolina.

Graham has a history to turning conservative just before reelections.

I would not put much faith in his recent turn — until after the election (2020). I would not be surprised to see him turn into another Romney. I hope I am wrong, but ...

I don’t trust Graham because of his history, but I’ll take whatever we can get out of him right now.

He’s been doing great since the Kavanaugh debacle.

Maybe his eyes were finally, really and truly opened to what’s been going on and the change is permanent. Hopefully.

I think he allowed McCain to overcome his objections to Leftist policy and beliefs before. He’s been pretty good of recent, with a few exceptions.

McCain would meet with new members of the Senate (and I believe the House too), once they came aboard.

I’ve seen people do an about face after those meetings.

IMO < he was turning people from day one.

I doubt we’ll ever fully know how he corrupted the environment.
