You would need to convince at least 40 states that they would no longer get a voice in Federal Government, because the 5 biggest and their popular vote would rule everyone.

Not gonna happen.

Exactly. You can’t abolish the electoral college without an Amendment, and the structure of getting an Amendment is antithetical to passing without a lot of states and their equally weighted Senators

Don’t bet on that. Civics has not been taught in school for many years. Most people younger than 50-60 do not begin to understand how the EC works; so have no idea what the difference is between popular vote and EC. Popular vote makes sense to them; not complicated, sounds “fair” and many people are now brainwashed for things to be fair. Voting for Dummies.

The big selling point is the belief that Hillary would now be president if we had popular vote. That sounds fantastic to all the Trump haters.
