You hear about Mengele and imagine he was some sort of insane monster, that no doctor who has dedicated themselves to helping people would ever do such things if they are in their right mind. But the fact is that there are plenty of doctors who will allow the state to define their ethical boundaries rather than an internal moral compass. If they state says they can murder a 12 year old because he's not productive and a burden on society, there are doctors that will say "that's sensible" and do it. If they then say experiment on him first for the good of society, they'll say "to do otherwise is to waste a golden opportunity for science!" and go forward with the experiments.

Here we see one who has removed her mask, that's all. There are plenty more like her.

While I’m no fan of the macabre, if you think Mengele’s experiments and “medical procedures” were sick, do some research on Unit 731 of the Japanese Imperial Army. While 731 wasn’t the only unit of its type, it was the most well known, although, for some reason, most of the official information about Unit 731 and units of its type are still classified.
