I am well aware of how islam works as a politicoreligious organization. Generalizations are dangerous. I doubt if every one of the victims in that mosque were 911 terrorists or even supported that ideology.

If we are ever going to defeat radical muslim terrorists it is going to have to be organic to the muslim community. The change is going to have to be from within. Lumping all muslims into the 911 murderers ain’t going to work.

Change is going to have to come from within Islam?

Pay attention. Ain’t gonna happen as IT IS IN THEIR holy book to subdue the world.

Simplistic nonthinking like yours has and will get many more killed.

Well, for example, if a pacifist is threatened, he will generally not resist, and those of similar mindset will agree with him and not promote retaliation, even call him a hero- the net result- no increase in violence. In this case, those non-terrorist/ non activist persons will do similarly, and agree in principle, even admire the activist segment, call him a hero ( even if quietly in their circle) and maybe even find one among them to emulate the behavior.

Every ideology looks for a true believer to move the ball....whatever that ball may be.

Just a slight difference you see.

Islam is structured to accept no change. Those Muslims attempting change are in more danger than non-Muslims. Islam is not as simplistic as you seem to think, and that’s what is dangerous.
