Republicans and Democrats on Wednesday were calling for hearings about the massive college admissions scam uncovered this week that let dozens of wealthy parents, including actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, pay thousands and in some cases millions of dollars to get their kids into elite universities.
“I am deeply concerned about this, and I’m worried about how widespread issues like this may be throughout the country," said Rep. Bradley Byrne, an Alabama Republican on the House Education and Labor Committee.
"We must ensure that no one is denied an opportunity due to the illegal actions of rogue parents or corrupt school officials," Byrne said.

While the parents have blame, the colleges are even more guilty. They are the ones demanding, accepting and facilitating these bribes through fraud.

Why not have a simple understandable process, assign points to such things as admissions tests, SAT scores, extracurricular involvement, sports, etc.

That’s what I was saying. This has been going on for decades. How do people think Ted Kennedy got into Harvard? To me what I think happened is the “white privilege” garbage these universities have been pushing for the past few years has blown up right in their faces. Someone knew about this, took the “white privilege” indoctrination to heart and exposed them. Good, I hope a lot of these lefties who are destroying our universities today go to jail.

As usual, the “look at me mommy” clowns we have in congress are missing the point.
The universities are corrupt or this never would have happened.
They have been corrupted by the win any way you can athletic departments and by government grants and they are in turn corrupting their students.
To cure the problem, universities must be cleansed and reorganized and not by direct interference by government.
Cutting out all federal funds would be a start. Jail to the max all persons involved in this scandal and let local people do the rest.
