AOC falsely claims pro-Jeb Bush super PAC behind ethics complaints against her, doubles down with another false claim
U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried this week to delegitimize ethics complaints lodged against her by falsely linking watchdog groups to a totally separate Republican super PAC that received a record fine from the FEC over foreign money.
Seemingly frustrated with the ethics complaints that allege off-the-books operations and misuse of congressional resources, the rookie Democratic congresswoman from New York went on Twitter to incorrectly link watchdog groups to Right to Rise, a pro-Jeb Bush super PAC that was hit with a $390,000 fine for accepting more than $1.3 million in illegal donations from Chinese nationals.
Whoah: the creepy org filing bogus ethics complaints against me just *actually* got hit with one of the biggest fines in FEC history, Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a tweet.

The biggest news in this story is that Jeb Bush still has a Super PAC. Who the Hell is still donating to this loser? Even the Chinese have to realize that he’s a washed-up has-been at this point.

Who cares if it is a Bush super pac, does that make her campaign any less guilty?
Would like to see the chain of evidence that proves her wrong. IOW, maybe she is right and leaking some inside baseball knowledge.
Did you ever think the US would live out the movie FOR REAL...?
It’s an act of love. Please clap.
Yeb! would not target anyone who was assisting with the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).
The facts are irrelevant.
She pushed back, and her Leftard friends are going to love her for that.
He needs her to get his name out there.
As a life long bookkeeper/accounting person what bothers ME the most is that the fine only amounted to 30% of the money illegally obtained.
IF I stole $1 Million & I only got punished by having to pay back $300,000 & I got to keep $700,000, I would be sorely tempted. No jail time-—just a fine.
How many of us would think the same way???
Isn’t it a fine on top of having to return the donations? Otherwise, you are right, you would have to be stupid not to take the donations.
I mean, it’s not illegal for foreigners to just pay a candidate directly a salary, and then the candidate could use that money to self-finance a campaign. Of course you would have to pay income taxes on that and it would be in the top bracket. So you would still be better off going the illegal contribution route and paying the fine, since it would be lower than your tax bill.
there’s nothing bogus about the ethics complaints against OAC and her sticky-fingered associates.
And if there are any Republicans left in California with any power, a formal complaint to the county DA needs to be filed against Justice Democrats for money laundering and conspiracy to defraud the public by converting donations to private use.
Hi guy.
“Did you ever think the US would live out the movie FOR REAL...?”
No. I didn’t think “1984” and “Atlas Shrugged,” would be documentaries either.

D.C.-based Coolidge Reagan Foundation filed the ethics complaint regarding her money trail.
A separate ethics complaint was filed by Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust for violating House ethics rules: “House Ethics Rules forbid lawmakers from using resources like House video for political purposes, the complaint notes.
The rules also prohibit a member from posting a link to her official social media site on a campaign social media site.”
