Based on the article one can tell the relative value of a school's degree by the bribery price per applicant:

1: Yale: $450 K - $1.2 MM

2: Stanford: $500 K

3: Georgetown: $250 K

4: University of SoCal: $100 K

5: UCLA: $100 K

6: U Texas: $100 K

7: Wake Forest: $100 K

What is interesting the bribe price pretty much rank orders the perceived quality of the schools involved.

I bet this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Colleges have been using Athletics to fund their operations for decades.

This applicant, who was supposedly recruited to play quarterback at USC, tipped-off authorities that something might be up.

I read stuff where people who want their kids to get into the top schools, for example, Harvard, know they need to give seven figure donations to make it happen. A high percentage of acceptances are to children of alumni who were let us generous to the school.

Capitalism (even when practiced by the nefarious) seems to work well.

How do you think schools like Harvard, Yale and Princeton have endowments worth more than the GDP of many countries. It is a Pay to Play in this case admittance.

About 15 years ago, there was a retiring pubbie Princeton grad congresscritter that got his kids into his alma mater by getting the school a ~$5M Federal research grant.

What I find interesting is that most of these athletic scams involves women. Another indication that the entire Title IX program for women’s sports is bogus, especially in the boutique sports. Men’s sports is too competitive to support this sort of thing. Women’s sports, not so much.

Very good point (about competitiveness), and it could be that women’s athletics is not watched as finely as the men’s programs by the people who regulate these things.

I noticed that Faber College is #852 on the list.
852. Faber $2.50

Side note: I pity the fool who is too young to know about Faber College.

Yup, serious crime without question. Glad the Feds are right on too of it.

Lucky for Lois Lerner, Loretta Lynch, and Hillary.

This would be a good time to end athletic admissions preferences and scholarships, period. It is ridiculous for “universities” to pay people who do not meet the regular requirements for admission as a student to attend as a gladiator. There are probably thousands of knotheads paid to play at schools for every one in this bribery scam. (I’m not saying that all athletic scholarship recipients are substandard students — just that a great many are.)
