You can’t produce oil without electricity.

Oil is what Argentina sells for hard currency.

Anyone selling Argentina major electric components is going to want hard currency in exchange.

Then there is the problem that major electrical components have long lead times. 6 months for large transformers to two years for large water turbines.

This coul be the final straw that breaks Argentina.

On the other hand this could be what turns Argentina in to a Chinese colony.

China would be in the same boat as Japan when they bought the NYC real estate. Nice, but you can’t take it home.

You may want to check your meds. This article is about *Venezuela.* Argentina has its own problems, but the lights are still on there.

I’ll bet China has been in talks with them for a long while and will extend them credit in exchange for a military base there.
