President Trump will ask Congress on Monday for $8.6 billion in additional funding to build a wall along the United States border with Mexico, a person familiar with the details said on Sunday.
The request, which will come as part of Mr. Trumps fiscal 2020 budget proposal, is certain to reignite a conflict with Democrats that led to a record-long government shutdown this year. Mr. Trump had previously requested $5.7 billion to build a wall but was rebuffed by both Democrats and Republicans, who approved a spending bill that did not include the funding.
That resulted in Mr. Trump declaring a national emergency on the border with Mexico to access billions of dollars that Congress refused to give him to build a wall there.
The new budget request is intended to allow for the completion of 700 miles of barrier, which is the total that Mr. Trump intends to build, mostly new but some refurbished.

ask and ye shall not receive.
Never stops coming at them!
We are so lucky he came along.
And to think I was for Cruz initially!
Why isn’t he transferring the money he promised. Why is he not spending the $1.4 Billion passed by Congress. Why are troops and razor wire not being deployed. What the hell is he doing?
Well, he’ll do the best he can for now and he’s got over half of the money so far which is amazing...
“Deja Vu all over again” - Y.B.
He already explained some of that. He doesn’t spend the $ until the contractors get all of the work done and done correctly.
More to the point—why isn’t he stopping the inflow in the way he is constitutionally able, backed up by the courts?
Are we only getting 700 miles now or is this fake news?
We went through this with you yesterday.
And the beat goes on.
By the end of FY 2019, DHS expects to have construction completed or
underway for more than 120 miles in the areas its most needed by the
U.S. Border Patrol. The pace of construction has picked up as initial
limiting factors like land acquisition and funding have been addressed.
DHS received its FY17 funding for border wall construction in May 2017. DHS
awarded the first contract against that funding in November 2017 and began
construction three months later in February 2018. As of November 21, 2018,
CBP has constructed more than 31 of the 40 miles with the remaining 9 miles
scheduled for completion by early 2019.
El Centro Project (2.25 miles): Completed.
El Paso Project (20 miles): Completed
San Diego Primary Project (14 miles): Completion anticipated in May 2019.
El Paso Project (4 miles): Construction started in September.

Thank you. He has the Power. He has the money. we GAVE HIM THE PRESIDENCY. Can anyone explain the delay. Is it Bolton? Kurchner? Is it Mulvaney ? is it mutinous pentagon traitors. What is going on? STOP THE INVASION!!
I dont mean to offend you but you had no impact yesterday. I am expressing the view that we are being over run by hoards of illegal immigrants and there is no action. If that offends you, support Beto. He wants open borders.
We should only refer to the president as
our great and wonderful president Donald J Trump
