So YES, the 30ish and under crowd will LOVE her for the most part. But again, I have ONE nephew, and ONLY one, who leans left of center, but even he is smart enough to know their policies will bankrupt America so he voted for Trump.
So let’s not say it’s a given that she gets 80 percent of the millennial vote if she runs in 2024.
She is also turning off a HUGE part of the independent vote and undecided vote because these people are not looking for a psychotic, pretty obviously stupid extremist to be president.
And chances are GREAT that she will say more and more absurd things that will force dems to deal with her.
If working class whites were turned off in 2016 and went for Trump, they are REALLY lost to dems at every level if AOC is the face of the party.
And I don’t think she helps with the spanish vote at all.
Dems can’t win in this country without at the LEAST a split white vote.
I don’t see them getting that anymore.
Between AOC and the Jew hater, there are more being turned off than turned on by them, IMHO.
Probably the best way the Dems could draw votes with Cortez in a Presidential election would be to run her as a VP candidate. Even so, I believe there are enough rational people to vote any Presidential ticket down that has Cortez on it.
A big weakness that the Dems have is that they believe their own hype and the fake news that had Hillary winning in a landslide - they believe NYC and LA are the USA.
OAC's congressional district has a 46.9% Hispanic population. I think her political advisers targeted that population to give her the win. I think she was a front for a behind-the-scenes organization that helped shape her image to the media and organize the social media campaign which appealed to the Hispanics and the younger voter; many were white. A robust grass root campaign was organized to knock on doors a year before the election. This effort targeted Hispanics and young people.
With the right candidate and good strategy, OAC can be history.
