From the article:
“The median year of birth for the 59 Democrats who assumed office this year is 1973. Sixteen of these members were born on or after 1980.
Nancy Pelosi was born in 1940. The average age of Democratic leaders is 71.”
Median and average aren’t the same thing.
Average age of Democrat leaders would be the sum of the ages of the leaders divided by the number of leaders.
The median year for members is 1973, meaning as many members were born after 1973 as were born before. See the difference?
Everyone knows median, mean and mode.
Gingrich gave two values. I used them.
Any way you do the math it doesn’t add up to grandparent age differences in general.
Pelosi at 71 and Momo, the youngest at 29, cones close at 42, but that’s a bit young for grandparent, but 42 yo grandparents are out there.
