The VA GOP is a sorry joke. They stumbled ass backwards into power after 1964 because the Bluedogs defected en mass from the Dems. The GOP then had a working majority, Bluedogs plus most of the suburban white middle class. The GOP did what it usually does, not much but they kept winning most state races for 15-29 years. As the Dems started to make inroads with the brain washed university graduates and the central American illegals the GOP remained its Bushbot self. One clown running for governor declared he was going to be ‘the soccer mom candidate’ and campaigned on combating ‘violence to women’ and ‘to many guns’. At this point the Bluedogs just sort of faded away. There are a lot of white men who just don’t vote any more in Virginia in the Valley and the southside and the SW. The GOP would have to make a direct appeal to them, guns, G-d, family, country crack down on the wetbacks still pouring in, lower taxes, etc. Chances are poor as the GOPERS are Bush League and just want to help K Street get along.
