“If this Jack-Ass votes against President Trump on this issue he needs to be removed from office by the good people of Texas!”

It’s arguable he should not have been elected in the first place.

“I am still assessing the legal authority of the arguments that the administration is putting forward,”

That's also what McConnell said.

They're just stalling. It should be pretty simply to check the statutory citations that President Trump put forward. It's either within the statutes or not.

"Still assessing..." simply means they don't want to go on the record yet.

"Still assessing..." really translates to "still dealing with Democrats..."

One would think after 6 years in the Senate Cruz would get SOME IDEA as to just who the Democrats are and what they’ll do should they get power.

Considering that he doesn’t seem to have a clue, I’ll help him a bit: They will CRUSH YOU like an insect, and EVERYTHING they say they’ll do in the name of ‘bipartisanship’ is total bullshit. If you don’t believe me, how about looking at what they put Kavenaugh through? And there is NOTHING that the Republicans can do that will change that - they could let the Democrats chair every Senate committee, but should the Democrats get the majority, they will CRUSH YOU, Senator Cruz, just as they’ve always done to Republicans in the House.

Those are TODAY’S RULES, Senator Cruz - either you play all-out now, or you will NEVER get to play again, as they will CRUSH YOU, Senator Cruz, should they get the power.

(maybe that will get through)

He knows this the MAJOR POLITICAL ISSUE for POTUS. If POTUS fails on this then he means to gain advantage if/when he tries again for the nomination. In other words, he’s a weasel.

Can’t trust the source.

More from Lyin’ Ted from another article:

“I am very worried prudentially about the slippery slope that could occur, emboldening future democratic presidents to implement radical policies contrary to law and contrary to the constitution,” added Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who is undecided and has privately voiced skepticism of Trump’s declaration.

Manafort joined the Trump campaign when Cruz was trying to flip delegates from states Trump won. So there’s that.

Exactly. Big donors love open borders. The GOP Senators all hate Trump and get a twofer here. Make the donors happy and leave POTUS bare behind to the wind. The beltway sewer can be a really ugly place.

I am convinced Cruz will never be President.

I am convinced Cruz will never win another election. He barely won now with Trump in the WH. He’s a goner and will join his wife at Government Sachs eventually.

Cruz had some ‘questionable’ things to say regarding Amnesty back in 2016, so not really surprising here.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, one of the Senate’s most knowledgeable experts on constitutional law...

Since when?
