American teens need parental consent to watch a pro-life film - but not to have an abortion

The Motion Picture Association of America has given an upcoming pro-life film the highest possible rating, meaning that teenagers who can legally have an abortion without parental consent will not be able to watch a film depicting one unaccompanied. Unplanned, a film about the real-life conversion story of former Planned Parenthood manager Abby Johnson, has been given an "R" rating, which prohibits under-17s from watching a film unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The filmmakers were certain they were making a PG-13 film, but the MPAA has informed them that it will be rated R for "some disturbing/bloody images" unless all scenes of abortions are removed or altered.

Well yeah. In the BOR you have a right to an abortion. Watching movies, not so much. Or something.

Reminds me of when movies would use an advertising ploy “Banned in Boston” or some such banner.

Here the tact would be “A procedure so horrific no children under 16 allowed unless accompanied by an adult!” Not sure if that would work, but kids are always attracted to what’s forbidden, and it does underscore the depravity of the process - and thus emphasize that the “enlightened” on the left are perfectly fine with encouraging a procedure that is so horrible that they’ll do everything they can to keep people from seeing it.

“We are losing our country, it’s horrifying.”

Not just our country my friend, it’s a fallen world so says my Pastor from just last weeks message. When Jesus comes back best nobody ask why, it will be truly and clearly evident to me.

“it will be rated R for “some disturbing/bloody images”

“Saving Private Ryan” was filled with bloody images of decapitation, dismemberment, and people being shot in the head, yet did not receive an “R” rating. Same with the vast majority of horror films.

Sorry, but I can see that getting it an R, if it’s graphic and true to life. Better that way for when they do see it.

It’s not like this is going to be a class trip or anything, and pro-life teen groups will have no problem getting parental slips signed for such a thing to be shown.

(And, let’s be real, this is not your Saturday date night movie. You’ll toss your popcorn and nachos.)

Ratings only matter on theatrical release.

Leftists at the American Library Ass. say they will not age restrict any materials in a library.

***Reminds me of when movies would use an advertising ploy “Banned in Boston” or some such banner.***

I remember those pre-1968 days! Then came 1969 and the joke of a movie rating system, then the the ploy was...

“So Bold It Has To Be Rated Not “X”, But “XXX!”

"The Walking Dead" is on TV at prime time hours- it is as bloody and gory as it gets.

This (R rating) is about the left covering up what abortion really is.

Even the “Right to Life” group name is an insult if you think about it.

The Right to Life is INHERENT in the law!!

Shouldn’t need to name a group that doesn’t want people dead!

“The Right to A Country That’s Not Insane” would fit better!

Note to Schumer....gun control is probably not saving ANY lives. However, it may be the cause of some being lost. If it were up to me, that man would be forever banned from any kind of “public service”. In this case, public service is a poor choice of words; maybe it should be called “public disservice”.
