Why Does Gallup Hate Reporting Conservatives' Overwhelming National Majority?
American Thinker ^ | 02/27/2019 | Bruce Walker

The latest Gallup Poll on February 22, 2019 has news that ought to be happy for conservatives.  In 43 states, conservatives outnumber liberals and in 6 states — Hawaii, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, and Washington — liberals outnumber conservatives.  California is evenly split.  The title of this article was actually better than most: "Conservatives Greatly Outnumber Liberals in 19 U.S. States."

Those who have followed my articles over the last ten years know that every single polling organization — and practically all of these are leftist in tilt — show a conservative majority in America, and it has been the same over the last fifty years.  Many conservatives, perversely, find this good news as unlikely as if they were self-deluded leftists, but if the leftist establishment could possibly make the data produce a conservative minority, trust me they would.

Gallup, while it presents the data showing an overwhelming preponderance of conservative strength when the data are looked at on a state-by-state basis, uses the title of its articles announcing the data to downplay the big story.

So when Gallup Poll data in 2009 showed that every single state in America had more conservatives than liberals, surely, that would be the title of the article, but it was not.  Instead, the title of the article with the polling data was this earth-shaking news: "Political Ideology: 'Conservative' Label Prevails in the South."  Wow!  Who would have ever thought that?

In 2010, when Gallup Poll data showed that conservatives outnumbered liberals in every state but Rhode Island, naturally, the title of the article in which Gallup presented this data was "Wyoming, Mississippi and Utah rank as most conservative states.  The District of Columbia and four New England states rank as most liberal.

Gallup lost its way decades ago.

I suppose the actual story is how quickly Liberals are making inroads.

In an historic context six states is a lot.

Because the media has spent so many decades convincing the majority of voters not to vote that if they reported Conservatives were the majority they might undo their own long term efforts to keep the total vote suppressed in every election from dog catcher to President.

Just think of the mess the both parties would have to deal with if more people like Trump run for office and the public realizes they have the numbers to completely overwhelm the elitist scum in both parties.

Here’s the shocker for Gallup...if you use the 2016 county-by-county voting map, their story doesn’t flow well.

Let’s use Washington state, using the 2016 map....Trump takes two-thirds of the counties in the state. In New Hampshire, of the ten counties...six of the ten voted Trump. Using New York’s county map, Trump took 80-percent of the counties.

The term ‘majority’ works well only in urbanized areas or metropolitan cities. Beyond that, it’s a joke.

Also Gallup is having people self desctibe. Even here on FR there are differences in what freepers consider to be conservative. There geographical differences as well. Liberals across the country believe in govt and govt solutions with the difference only in degree. While a self described conservative in NY likely has quite a few points of difference with a conservative in Missouri.

“BUT - IT IS IRRELEVANT HOW MANY CONSERVATIVES THERE ARE - if they don’t vote........”

Or if their vote only counts once.

How valid is this. Do people self-describe themselves as “conservatives”? Maybe just because they live a normal lifestyle. Work and family. But still support crazy dem nonsense.
If Americans so conservative, please explain where we ae today.
Only 6 liberal states? Does that mean only 6 dem governors?

Because it makes fraud more difficult to detect or challenge

We all know there is massive voter fraud going on.....but, that being said, I doubt if it is enough to change many seats in Congress........

“Overwhelming National Majority?”

Not really

“in 2018 compared with the year prior when 35% on average described themselves as conservative, 35% as moderate and 26% as liberal. “

The fact that more people say Conservative rather than Liberal is meaningless if the majority of those who say Moderate vote for the Dems.

And that seems to be the case. The most conservative state is Mississippi in which 50% say Conservative so that means there is not a single state where there is a majority of people who say Conservative

“Or if they don’t run for office.”

Very true, and in fact a lot of the Republican retirements last year were due to the constant death threats they were getting - much more than before Trump was elected.

The Democrats now use those threats as just another tactic to make it tougher for Republicans to win.

I'd take that bet.
But in a sane country, we'd already know the answer   :-\

The problem is there are way too many Leftist wackos out there who “call” themselves Conservatives.

That is why we have so many RINO’s, but no DINO’s.
