With a handshake and smile, President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Kim kicked off their second summit Wednesday evening at the historic Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel and offered an optimistic outlook for their coming meetings.
"I thought the first summit was a great success and I hope this one hopefully will be equal or greater than the first. And we made a lot of progress and think the biggest progress was our relationship is really a good one," Trump, who has called Kim a "friend," said.
Speaking through a translator, Kim expressed hope that whatever results from the summit would be welcomed by everyone. "I'm sure that we can do this," he added.
Despite the friendly interactions, when asked if he had walked back his vow to denuclearization the Korean Peninsula, Trump simply replied, "No."

Trump is dealing with evil incarnate. I believe he knows this and it will be interesting to see what comes out of this.
The combined media, knowing nothing about what is being discussed, has concluded that this is a major foreign policy debacle. Proving again the Leftist activist media is anti-American.
Just don’t be so sure that Kim himself is the evil incarnate.
And the outcome of just about any summit like this is established before it is even planned.
I believe with our technology most of us wouldn't believe the incredibly massive our intelligence is on Rocket Man. Probably right down to when he goes to the bathroom.
Trump and Kim will likely share the Nobel Peace prize. Liberals head explode. Trump did nothing as grand as 0bama
Just like the Singapore meeting back in June, the Hanoi summit is a public show to reveal what has already been worked out in private. That is my opinion.
They actually put ‘greater’ in quotes. As if averting nuclear war and slowing/stopping their program wasn’t a success. Truly sick media who root against this president and us.
I can’t hear “Da Nang” without thinking of Good Morning, Vietnam.
“Da Nang me....Da Nang me....why don’t they get a rope and hang me!”
