(CNN)Republican Sen. Thom Tillis will vote in favor of a resolution against President Donald Trump's declaration of a national emergency at the border, the North Carolinian wrote Monday in a Washington Post op-ed
Tillis wrote that, while he favors border security, he is concerned the President has overreached with the national emergency declaration. "As a U.S. senator, I cannot justify providing the executive with more ways to bypass Congress," he wrote. "As a conservative, I cannot endorse a precedent that I know future left-wing presidents will exploit to advance radical policies that will erode economic and individual freedoms."
Sen. Susan Collins of Maine has also announced plans to vote against the national emergency, while other Republicans have expressed concerns in the past week. Only four Senate Republicans need to vote for the resolution condemning the emergency in order for it to pass, which would likely cause Trump to issue the first veto of his presidency.

Looking at 2020:
Deserving of re-election: Inhofe, Sullivan, Cotton, Perdue, Risch, Ernst, Cassidy.
Deserving of Cantorization: Gardner, McSally, Daines, Collins, Cornyn, Capito, Enzi, Rounds, Graham, Tillis, Sasse, Hyde-Smith, McConnell.
we need strong conservatives to mount a primary challenge.
“As a whore for big business and farmers that don’t want to pay attractive wages, I simply cannot allow President Trump to stop Central America from moving into the US”.
Elitist scum.
Where was Tillis when Obama was end-running Congress? Where were his moral stands then?
So he admits the Democrats will exploit this (to the detriment of our country with their evil agenda) but will stop Trump at all costs on this when Trump is trying to save our country. We’re in for a rough end of days with idiots like this being the captain of this sinking ship we call a country.
Dude. Congress passed the law forfeiting that right.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen pics of this guy in blackface.
“Future leftist presidents...” what a copout. We are in the moment; always in the moment. Get it while you can; never mind future consequences. The future consequences will materialize anyway, so == get it while you can.
Oh, but wait — this clown wants to say he’s for border security while voting against it. Marvelous.
The thing is, a future Democrat president will do whatever the hell he feels like, regardless of whether Trump had declared an emergency or not. ..
Obama declared a number of emergencies, and those were apparently ok because he was Barack Obama, icon and savior. Nothing he did could be questioned.

Odd stance to take, Obama issued 1/3 of them issued since Carter and I don’t recall Tillis comlaining in 2015...

wtf is this ‘vote’. I think the statute is plenty clear.
I’m from North Carolina and I just sent him a scathing email, which his office has confirmed that it was received.
Good job.
What is his email? I want to send him an email too.
Mr. Tillus, America is more, much more than the District of Columbia where you have sheltered yourself from those who suffer greatly from your willful ignorance and insulting demeanor.
Im from North Carolina and I just sent him a scathing email, which his office has confirmed that it was received
