Oh you’re absolutely right.
And yeah, “great reckoning” and “blood in the streets” has been ongoing since I’ve been in the market starting in the late 70s.
But this time around we have four central banks with balance sheets that would have been unthinkable in 2007.
Nor is the debt of the US accurate because it doesn’t included unfunded mandates. Even without within a short period of time debt service will be the single largest expense.
I hope I’m wrong but I know of no financial situation in the history of man where the bill hasn’t eventually come due. Might be tomorrow, might not be in our lifetime. But I think it’s bound to happen.
Haha, your remark about Amazon gave me a fond memory of my investing friends recommending I cash out my $2 a share profit in Amazon and reinvest in a “real” business like Lucent.
