I suppose Chambers, piss be upon him, comes from Omaha or Lincoln. I used to get custom boots from a maker in Omaha who I asked to fit a holster in the shaft of one of the boots. I offered my suggestions on how to do it but was politely told that they were familiar with such modifications as they had done many for local police officers. When I stopped in at their shop in Omaha, I had a very good look at the town. The holster was perfect and after looking at the town, it was obvious how they were so expert in such boot modifications. Nebraska is not universally the patriotic old west any longer.
