For over a decade, under multiple administrations, the U.S. government had a secret agreement with the ruthless Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel that allowed it to operate with impunity, an in-depth investigation by a leading Mexican newspaper confirmed this week. In exchange for information and assistance in quashing competing criminal syndicates, the Bush and Obama administrations let the Sinaloa cartel import tons of drugs into the United States while wiping out Sinaloa competitors and ensuring that its leaders would not be prosecuted for their long list of major crimes. Other revelations also point strongly to massive but clandestine U.S. government involvement in drug trafficking.
Relying on over 100 interviews with current and former government functionaries on both sides of the border, as well as official documents from the U.S. and Mexican governments, Mexico’s El Universal concluded that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the U.S. Justice Department had secretly worked with Mexican drug lords. The controversial conspiring led to increased violence across Mexico, where many tens of thousands have been murdered in recent years, the newspaper found after its year-long probe. The U.S. agents and their shady deals with Mexican drug lords even sparked what the paper called a “secret war” inside Mexico.

Yes, I don’t trust the US Government Post Obama any more than I do the Mexican Officials down in Mexico who are surely bought off and do what they are told AS DO Mexican and American journalists who write what their told to write...………….. “a lot of the time”.
And, this article is 5 years old. So, while it may have some truths in it I have to put it in the Extreme Skepticism column in my mind.

The article, from 2014, was referring to the Obama administration. The corrupt officials in the Obama administration still control the Democrat Party.
The people in government who are opposed to any kind of effective border security are working with and for the Mexican drug cartels.
Why else would anyone fight so hard to prevent any security at the Mexican border? Why else would they work so hard to abolish ICE. Why else would they repeatedly sabotage the border patrol?
You need to learn to connect the dots.
Bottom line- name names. Even if the article is from 2014, these “top officials” still have names.

When I found out that the drug dealers took in so much money they could not count it, and had to weigh it to get the value, you knew they had enough money left over to corrupt people who threatened to stop them.
Those people to corrupt would be police, politicians, and people hired to kill your competitors, and also kill honest people who are working to get you in trouble.
So that amount of money, and human nature, corrupting people is really not surprising, and is unfortunate for us law abiding citizens who are affected. - Tom

If that’s what you are trying to say, I don’t trust them but neither do I totally disbelieve what this article is pushing as our Federal Government deceives us daily. So, I’m in a gray area (on what I think about this article). Is that ok with you? Have I connected YOUR dots?
IIRC there is a rather long airstrip in a little place called Mena, Arkansas. Routinely CIA assets would fly from both Mexico and El Salvador into there with a ton of “blow.”

No I don’t “trust” journalists or Mexican officials.

I also have friends, familiar with the situation, that have told me that the Obama administration and the Democrat Party worked with the cartels.

Anyone who watched “The Shield” knows that the CIA is the Vic Mackey of the US.
I’d add the CBP union too. They’re the ones who talked Trump into making open slatted fences, rather than an actual wall, for a border. Not only doesn’t “kill” their jobs by drastically cutting down on border crossers, but makes it easy to pass drugs anywhere along the border.
Of course, the claim is that it helps CBP officer safety, when really it exposes them to potential shootings from across the border.

The biggest political issue today is border security. The Democrats and many Republicans are doing everything they can to undermine border security.
