Former FBI general counsel James Baker testified to Congress last fall that he was told by two officials that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said a pair of Cabinet officials was "ready to support" an effort to remove President Trump from office.

Great idea and tactic but please let the waterboarding go on longer for our sake as entertainment and justice. He deserves it.
We already know that Preibus was on board with finding a replacement for POTUS right before the election after the Access Hollywood stuff came out. Heck, they were actively trying to recruit Mike Pence to fill the roll if Trump went down in flames. His feelings never changed. Why did Trump bring him on board as Chief of staff? Keep your enemies close.
Spicer, for his part, was never on board. The reason why he looked like such a dufus when addressing the press pool is because he didn't stand with the President on any issue. Notice how fast he moved to embrace the left by association after his departure. Chilling with Colbert and Kimmel, then hosting the Emmys, then a guest appearance on SNL. Yea, Good riddance.
