He will be missed.
After his Carter misadventure Pat Caddell became one of the good ones. He was usually far more conservative than most Republicans.

I liked the guy. Seemed an honest sort. Always sure to give his passionate opinion instead of falling on party line. And in fact I appreciated his criticisms of his party ;D. Courageous man. Prayers for his family.

Always sad when we lose a principled honest man. Mr. Caddell was of such character - a rare voice of truly independent political analysis. He was a Democrat who spoke political facts, not liberal fantasies. I respected him for his integrity. Requiescat in pace, Mr. Caddell; and May God have mercy on your soul.
