Perhaps Beto O’Rourke is on the take from an organization like La Raza may be lining his pockets and putting him on strings like a puppet. Any other person would have more common sense.

With his in father in law law being an El Paso billionaire, I would guess cartels not La Raza.

A man who stands to inherit a billion dollars doesn’t need to be on the take.

Most, if not all members of Congress (and at least their senior staff members) are on the take from multiple sources.

Either no common sense, or will say anything to get ahead.

The bribe theory seems unlikely, since IIRC he has married up to a billionaire heiress. But, maybe like Fredo in Godfather II, he wants to make something on his own. Possible, but not my high probability explanation. I think he's a self-inflated fool.

The drug cartels buy politicians anywhere they can get away with it. I wonder how many they have bought in the United States both Dem and Rep?

The Cartels have a long history of buying off law enforcement on our side of the border. It would be only logical to think they are also buying off local, state and national politicians.
