Make it $50/hour, and then everyone can be above-average.

Don’t know if anyone mentioned this before, but I wonder if part of the fallout of raising the minimum is to not necessarily reduce the company’s workforce, but maybe they’ll lay off the Americans and turn around and hire an illegal who will work for $4.00/hr cash.

Not that the Democrats care about the American worker anyway...

Illinois need revenue for their failing public pensions. This is low hanging fruit.

Looks like Illinois is becoming a socialist wasteland.

What do they do about people who are already making $15? Will they get a raise, or will they suddenly have a minimum wage job?

Excellent! The more people they can put out of business and drive to America the better.

Indiana thanks Illinois for all of the new jobs coming our way.

Dems think this is the cure to funding the pensions shortfall.

This is great news for Hammond and East Chicago, Indiana. All of the new jobs and redevelopment will be heading that way, fast.
Within a year, property values in one of the most depressed places in America will soar.

All this does is hurts retirees still living in Chicago and other cities in their modest homes trying to maintain them. As well as startups of small businesses.

The legislation, sponsored by Chicago Democratic Rep. Will Guzzardi, would increase Illinois’ minimum wage from $8.25 to $9.25 on Jan. 1; to $10 on July 1, 2020; and $1 each Jan. 1 until 2025.

gives 'em time to stop it if they need to.

We have just got to stop legislating a minimum wage, and take the restrictions off so that anyone who wants to work can work.

Illinois businesses, move to Wisconsin because we are “open for business.” Oh, wait, Scott Walker lost and new Democrat Gov. Tony Earl has taken down those signs saying “open for business.” Elections matter, conservatives get your butts to the polls!
