Yup. I was there a few years ago. What an eye-opening experience. Minneapolis is a frightening, depressing city. Not all what I expected. I'm from the People's Republik of Connecticut. Yeah, I know... we have plenty of our own frightening, depressing cities. But so far they are not filled with a majority of Muslims and other foreigners.
I expected to see that at least a little bit of 'Mary Tyler Moore's 1970s Minneapolis' still existed. Yeah right... far from it.
The people I saw in Minneapolis were not blonde and Swedish-looking. Instead I saw what appeared to be thousands of Somali Muslims. Several of the women wore full black burkas like you see in the Middle East - all you could see were their eyes.
They were everywhere in the Minneapolis area. I was appalled. I kept thinking: WHO the hell let this happen?? Am I still in the United States of America??
The only place in Minneapolis my husband and I felt that we were still in 'America' was at the Minneapolis Twins' (baseball) Target Field.
