Union leaders warn Green New Deal may lead to poverty: Members worried about putting food on the table
Labor unions are warning that the "Green New Deal" proposed by Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is vague and potentially dangerous, signaling that the progressive proposal may be in for even more turbulence following a rocky rollout last week.
While conservatives have fiercely criticized the Green New Deal resolution for promising a job to "all people of the United States" -- including those "unwilling to work," according to an accompanying document published, and later disavowed, by Ocasio-Cortez's office -- the pushback from union leaders indicates that the progressive proposal has not won over a core element of the liberal base.

Do they really not understand that poverty for all but the elite few is the intended outcome?
They eat Sea Bass & Wagyu and we eat bugs and porridge.
While working to build their utopia, there is disturbance in the ranks.

The Union members need to be put into a spot where the Green Deal becomes a direct threat to their own welfare.
The only way they’ll not vote Democrat is to have their very livelihood put at risk. Serious risk.
Well, that just means that the ranks must be aggressively subdued and suppressed so that they learn not to interfere with the establishment of their glorious new future!
And if a few million of the ranks need to die in order to facilitate this glorious worker's paradise for their comrades, so be it!
It is for the greater good. If they just understood they would fully support the initiative.
That’s it, they just need to be educated. We could bring everyone together at one central location for training. It would not take long, so actually we could set up camps for the education. Bring every body together to understand the new system then once they understand everyone can go home and spread the word.
Of course some may be slow learners so we can’t send them home until they are ready.
But think how great a society we could build.......
You get what you vote for.
Exactly! Suck it up a$$holes. This is what your leadership told you to vote for.
Oh yeah. AOC is well versed in how to deal with ‘’counter revolutionary’s ‘’ and ‘’backsliders’’.
And revolt .
And AOC a good game.
These radical left folks are planting the seeds of revolt.
Ever meet a socialist who projects
himself as a factory dreg or farm
laborer? Neither have I. They all
expect to be leaders and enjoy the
perks and bennies that go w/power.
Egaltarians my ass!
That is exactly why those communes fail; everyone goes thinking someone else will be doing all the work. In Jonestown the people were basically inmates, strictly controlled, unarmed, while fenced in and guarded by armed guards. Oh, and those primarily black members were killed after being worked like slaves in the old South...
Potentially dangerous?
Too bad I don't have a Tank....
And if a few million of the ranks need to die in order to facilitate this glorious worker’s paradise for their comrades, so be it!
That is not how it works.
The Union Leaders do not support the Democrats because they believe in their agenda but because they know they can bribe the Democrats with money and votes to get what they (the Unions) want.
If the Unions lose a few million members it is a major financial loss for the Union Management.
I think we are seeing cracks in the Democrat’s coalition of special interest groups.
Unions and their useful idiot members deserve poverty for supporting the “inner party” commonly known as democrats. Union members are modern day proles from the book 1984.

From the link:
“It appears that the ruling Party’s (and Goldstein’s) disregard for the proles is based in fact: they are not capable of rebellion, for their thoughts and aspirations are simply on too low a level for them to achieve the kind of goals Winston has in mind.”
