They were followed into the hotel parking lot… why, no idea (Again, more to the story?). Asked why they were parked there, to which they stipulated they were going to get a room. Officer “THEN” stipulated that when they make a turn to be sure they use their turn signal. So they were going to get a room, without IDs? (Suspicious Activity) Passenger was acting fidgety and told not to reach into his bag… (Suspicious Activity) Won’t give his name and then says he has an ID, which he won’t relinquish… so now he has an ID, after he said he didn’t (Suspicious Activity). The passenger’s body language says a lot and is projecting a negative connotation. (Suspicious Activity) Told to not try to stuff anything between the seats (Suspicious Activity). The Officer is noticing he’s tensing up and asks him to not tense up (trying to deescalate the situation) The passenger was not being compliant and keep talking instead of obeying the commands of an officer. Re-watch the video and look at the cues and responses by both sides. Without all the information regarding the stop, no one can extrapolate why this situation escalated the way it did. There are many things that can be conveyed via body language, i.e. a hand gesture, posture or even a look. IMO, the media is projecting and trying to set a narrative, not investigating.

My mom always pays whenever we travel anywhere. I never even carry my ID unless I’m behind the wheel. And I leave my ID in my glove compartment.

I must be suspicious.

Nobody in AZ uses their turn signals. LOL

I know what it means. How am I negligent? You don’t even know me.

If you know what it means, then the statement was self explanatory. Knowing you has nothing to do with it, your statement(s) say it all.

I’ll break it down for you in laymen terms. ID left in glove compartment; BAD, not using turn signals; BAD and letting your mother pay; priceless.

I use my turn signals.

Why is bad to leave ID in the glove compartment? I kept losing them and I was tired of paying $25 a piece to get duplicates. So I leave one in the glove compartment now whenever I drive that way I will have it.

My Mom understands my financial situation, is well off, and loves me a lot!

Not that any of the above is your business or your right to judge who I am.

That video speaks for itself.
Was he a bit of a jerk? Sure.

But he is going to get a HUGE check.

They way over escalated for very minor cause.

Use your turn signal correctly and this kind of thing won’t happen.

No, this kind of thing should never happen to a unarmed non-threatening passenger in a car that made a simple traffic violation. Unless he was actually a valid suspect in a crime then he did not even need to show an I.D.

This type of overboard stuff sadly impugns the character police despite the many good ones, as well as America.

Psssst... I’ll let you in on a little secret young one; your ID has valuable info on it that identity thieves love and $25 would be the least of your worries if they used it.

In the future, maybe you should choose to be more discrete on displaying “your” business, as you make it everyone’s business when you post your personnel sentiments, regardless of the medium.

P.S. I’m glad you use turn signals and your mom loves you!

I keep it in a locked vehicle in a glove compartment. If they want my ID that much, they’ll have to steel my vehicle.

I park it overnight in a locked garage.

And who wants a beat up 17 year old PU truck?

And who would think I keep it there?

The man is evidently a criminal and drug user/runner from what I read and heard, and likely the car or he was targeted (since he was only a passenger), but from what the video shows, this man was hardly a physical threat that required 11 taser shots.

Hopefully the third party investigation will provide more insight, if we are privy to the outcome. Curious... How do you substantiate he’s hardly a threat?
