Rome doesn't teach NOW what it taught back THEN; no matter how many red herrings get drug across the trail or how many rabbit holes are claimed to be enticing enough to explore.
You have an inordinate idea of what kind of authority a pope has in non-infallible statements. And you have only the haziest idea of what the Ordinary Magisterium consists of --- if you have any idea at all.
Your problems seem to arise from this notion that a pope is some kind of clerical factotum, megalo-monarch and all-purpose oracle, and that the Church is, in effect, the mystical body of the pope.
It's fruitless for me to try to have a discussion with someone with such presuppositions. Sorry. Tagline
