His SOTU of course was well received, so a bump is to be expected.

But the base should have screamed loud and long against his idea that he wants and needs to import more cheap labor!!!

If he thinks going to the mushy Chamber of Commerce middle on cheap labor imports is going to get him a favorable response, he’s gonna keep at it—just as he did yesterday.

The illegal immigration issue is not simply one of some violent and drug-bearing criminals crossing the border. It is much more and much more fundamental than that.

Exactly. I thought orange man was bad.

And We were told his speech was a disjointed hot mess, full.of hatred and bigotry. We have been told this white House is in chaos. We have been told that it was worst speech ever, OMG, he didn’t even mention climate change.

Considering everything we have been told, how can he have higher approval ratings?

And how was it that over 70% the night of the speech approved of Trump’s speech?

The media types in the New York Washington axis are completely flummoxed by all this.

He was at 49% before the shutdown, went down to 43% during the shutdown, and is now up to 50% post-agreement.

Similarly, the Strongly Approve-Strongly Disapprove index went from a -7, to a -15, and now has rebounded to a -3.

Based on those trends, look for Pelosi to force another shutdown.

There does need to be temporary farm workers. This needs to be closely regulated so you know when they come in and when they go back. It’s the way it used to be and it worked well. Farmers can bring them in and are responsible for sending them back. If they want permanent, they sponsor and are financially responsible.

"Daily Presidential Tracking Poll - Rassmussen - New High!"

...... Color me skeptical but I could have sworn that Trumps approval was in the high 50 percentile when he first took office.

No there don’t!

It is only because we have allowed such, working in grisly jobs for low wages for so long that we still somehow think we need them.

We have a massive student-loan crisis which could well be fixed by students going to temporary ag jobs at key times during the year. We also would have far more tech innovation, which pretty much by definition supports higher wages and better working conditions, if we hadn’t subsidized them with immigrant squalor and taxpayer support for such immigrant squalor.

Students go work free on organic farms that mix in a little fun with their work loads. Other plain old farms could readily compete with such if they had the incentive and need to do so.

Take away the immigrant worker crutch!

Let me see if I understand this math: +38-41 = -3

Now, using the first set of numbers: +50-49 = +1

So, why did they use the second set of numbers?

I say he scored +1

When Trump was running for President he ALWAYS spoke of a big door in the Wall for LEGAL immigrants. Pull up the speeches from his rallies... you’ll see it.
