Roberts is a complete and utter disaster-much worse than Kennedy, in fact. Because he was deliberately chosen because of his opaque judicial record, not as simply a third bite at the apple.
If Trump replaces Darth Bader and Breyer, we’ll have a moderately conservative court.
Funny thing, many of us warned against Roberts when he was nominated. Some of us also warned against W Bush himself, who did exactly in Washington as Prez, what he did in Austin as Guv: move the Supreme Court to the left. This, from the man who vowed to nominate only “strict constructionists”.
The head of the Texas Education Association once referred to Bush as a “Texas Democrat”.
People don’t realize exactly *how* much of a “progressive” Bush was. Some would be shocked, just based on his time as TX governor.

Honestly, I think Roberts would have been the 5th vote in Obergefell if not for Kennedy. This is the same guy who flipped his decisive vote to save Obamacare. He’s a politician, not a Justice.

As much as we hate the bush family legacy, you have to reminder what the options were. Unfortunately we don’t get to choose our candidates, we get to pick from what the choices are on the ballot.
