The Supreme Court is stopping Louisiana from enforcing new regulations on abortion clinics in a test of the conservative courts views on abortion rights.
The justices say by a 5-4 vote that they will not allow the state to put into effect a law that requires abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals.
Chief Justice John Roberts joined the courts four liberals in putting a hold on the law, pending a full review of the case.
The four more conservative justices, including Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, would have allowed it to take effect. Kavanaugh wrote a dissent explaining his vote.
The law is very similar to a Texas measure the justices struck down three years ago. Roberts dissented in that case.
...especially after being promised strict constructionist judges in one of the early debates.
Disappointed does not even begin to describe how many of us feel about W. It is frank betrayal, in light of that he has chosen to spoon with Clinton and Obama during the Trump years.
Pastor friend of mine who was involved in local politics here told me they knew about W’s drug conviction back in the late 1990’s, but figured W would not win anyway.
What was so disappointing was how so many conservatives bought into W, and then attacked those of us who tried to sound the alarm.
Agreed. I’m thankful we avoided McCain and Romney, too. We got gay marriage and a trillion dollar plus deficit yearly. The national debt doubled from $10 trillion to $20 trillion. We got Obamacare. We favored Iran over Israel. We allowed Russia back into the Middle East. Israel was less safe. We allowed North Korea free reign. We gave up the gains we won in Iraq and Afghanistan (Trump got them back or most of it), race relations tanked for the first time in decades. The DOJ and FBI became corrupt, lawless and tried and is trying to get Trump thrown out of office and that is just for starters. Obama gutted the military and Obama as you can see was incredible.
Did you mean Satanist?
Dont worry. Jesus will come back to judge long before this hypothetical guess.
