Supreme Court blocks Louisiana abortion clinic law
apnews.com ^ | 02/07/2019 | AP

The Supreme Court is stopping Louisiana from enforcing new regulations on abortion clinics in a test of the conservative court’s views on abortion rights.

The justices say by a 5-4 vote that they will not allow the state to put into effect a law that requires abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals.

Chief Justice John Roberts joined the court’s four liberals in putting a hold on the law, pending a full review of the case.

The four more conservative justices, including Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, would have allowed it to take effect. Kavanaugh wrote a dissent explaining his vote.

The law is very similar to a Texas measure the justices struck down three years ago. Roberts dissented in that case.

What did RBG do to cast her vote, blink twice?

Fart on a mirror for 'no'.

Won't share here what it takes for a 'yes'.

I don’t think this is correct. After Harriet Miers’ nomination was withdrawn, Samuel Alito was nominated for the same Supreme Court “seat”. John Roberts was nominated before Harriet Miers.

Doesn't matter the order of ascension! Roberts has been a disaster!

There were better candidates than Bush, the man who opened the Southern border, fought an undeclared war, tried to ban semi-autos, further federalized health care and education, gave us the Patriot Act, and judges no better than a Democrat. The man was a disaster. Gore and Kerry were jokes.

Does he still go “ranching” now, or is he too busy directing his ghost painter?

I remember in his hearing he would be for the little guy when it was right. Sorry ‘little guys and gals’, not today.

Now that we see how forces beyond our control tried to tame Jeff Bezos, there’s no doubt in my mind. Somebody owns Roberts because he’s too much of a coward to fight back.

many of us warned against W Bush himself

It was with his nomination that we saw that there is indeed a Deep State that controls nominations (until President Trump overwhelmed their tyranny). On FR there was a very vigorous and vocal group of potatoEheads who wanted Dan Quayle. Think about it. Quayle was vilified as dumb for using an alternative spelling of potato(e). That got us GWB, who we probably won't be seeing at any Mensa meetings, even as a guest.

Think about it. We could've had Quayle/SteveForbes in 2000 instead of GWB/Cheney. How do we even begin to measure the damage that has occurred because that nomination was rigged?

George 1's presidency....beginning with that, has the CIA in connection with other rogue deep state and globalist entities been running the country?

John Roberts is the new Anthony Kennedy...

Could just as well have Julia Roberts on there.

The left, including now Roberts, wants back-alley abortions to be the norm. What else do you call abortion centers which aren’t medically connected in case of emergencies?

Plus one for Kavanaugh, kind of squirrelly about his precedence stance, hoped that was just “window dressing”, this is a good sign (For now).

Although this is just a hold, I thought Roberts does not like close opinions/divided court; what a hypocritical A-hole. Of course this could be a administrative move designed to be heard later, whatever.
