Who's afraid of socialism?

America has already embraced socialism as evidenced by the following socialist programs:

Head Start

Social Security Disability
Social Security Retirement and Survivors Benefits
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Medicaid
Medicare
Welfare (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or T.A.N.F.)
G.I. Bill
Veterans' benefits
Pell Grants
Unemployment Insurance
Food Stamps
Government Subsidized Housing
Home Mortgage Interest Deduction
Hope and Lifetime Learning Tax Credits
Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit
529 accounts (qualified tuition programs) or Coverdell education savings account (Education I.R.A.'s)
Earned-income tax credit
Employer subsidized health insurance
Employer subsidized retirement benefits
Federal student loans

How is the use of a 529 plan considered "embracing socialism?"

By that logic, isn't contributing to a 401k plan the same? An IRA?

You mix in benefits we paid for (forcibly by the government) with the socialist ones.

You say my GI benefits are socialism??? You are one big knot head!

I’ll bet you are one of those “Principled Conservatives” who sits on his hand some election day, “to send the party a message!”.
