I do not know a single person in my life that has ever thought of doing a “black face” costume. It is simply not anything anyone in my small town or church would have ever done.

Ditto. I’ve lived in the South all my life and have not been to a single party where someone was wearing black face and have never heard of any friends doing black face as a joke or stunt. Who are these idiots?
However, wearing black face is not a crime and I don’t see the harm in it. If someone chooses to be tasteless then there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s their life and their choice. It is not grounds for resignation. Promoting infanticide is criminal and should lead to resignation but obviously, black face is a more serious social blunder than encouraging the murder of the innocents.
