Well, there you go. OF the three people who could be Governor, the Governor has an entire party telling him to resign for blackface, the lt Governor who would take over has a credible sexual assault allegation against him, and the attorney general who is 2nd in line also did the blackface thing, and you can’t possibly call for the Governor to resign and NOT require the AG to resign.

So, Herring said Fairfax HAD to resign because of wearing blackface, and then he admitted wearing blackface.
Without getting into the argument of whether blackface should force a person to resign, CALLING FOR THE RESIGNATION of a person for doing blackface, when you did it, is absolutely a reason to resign.
Apparently, that old KKK blood runs strong in the Democrat Party of Virginia.
How inane is this? When I was in HS (early 1960s) the Senior Revue Night every year had people singing in applicable costumes. It would've been wrong to not acknowledge the race and ethnicity of the people we were portraying. Blacks were portrayed as blacks. PS: Where's the outrage about blacks who've dressed up as Elvis or Nixon or whomever and wore a white mask?
And, Herring had already put his hood, er, hat in the ring tp run for VA governor in 2021.
He has received a lot of PP money, some hidden in PACs.

In the first six months of the year, DAGA’s biggest contributions were about $75,000 from the United Food and Commercial Workers union and just over $60,000 from T-Mobile.
Since June 30, DAGA communications director Lizzie Ulmer said, some of the top donors have been Planned Parenthood, the National Education Association and Citigroup.
One Commonwealth, Herring’s own leadership political action committee, gave $827,500 directly to Herring’s campaign, making it his second-biggest donor after DAGA. The next biggest is Everytown for Gun Safety, which gave $600,000 through the end of October. One of that group’s founders is former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

As a sophomore I had to take a “Humanaties Course”, required or there would have been no takers.
The main source text for the class was the book “Black Like Me”
The author was attempting to learn what it was like to live as a black person. To color his skin, he finally ended up using walnut hulls that provided a brown color and actually lasted.
The course was prescient because the next year, race riots erupted in Raleigh and reporters came from all over to cover the events.
Ash Wednesday coming up.
Ash Wednesday this year is March 6. I guess we'll find out.
