Mueller deputy briefed on anti-Trump dossier research months before 2016 election: testimony

Newly confirmed congressional testimony reveals that Andrew Weissmann, now a top deputy in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, was briefed in August 2016 on the opposition research behind the anti-Trump dossier – underscoring how early and widely the Democrat-funded research was shared among senior FBI and Justice Department officials.

DOJ official Bruce Ohr was asked about such briefings during a closed-door interview with House lawmakers in August 2018. In the interview, details of which have only recently emerged, Fox News has learned that Ohr revealed he met with Weissmann and other DOJ officials shortly after a July 30, 2016 breakfast meeting with former British spy and dossier author Christopher Steele, in the run-up to the presidential election. Ohr told congressional investigators that his contact with Steele included “specific information related to the Russian Government’s attempt to interfere in the Presidential election,” as well as specific allegations “related to members of the Trump campaign and allegations of colluding with Russia.”

Question: “You’ve identified at the Department of Justice folks as early as August of 2016 or folks at the Department of Justice and FBI being aware of your involvement. At the Department of Justice, Mr. [Bruce] Swartz, Mr. [Andrew] Weissmann, and the third name, I didn’t get, Zainab [Ahmad]?”

Ohr: “Ahmad, Ms. Ahmad.”

Ohr was then asked about meeting with then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, as well as lawyer Lisa Page and agent Peter Strzok, all three of whom have since left the bureau.

The problem is....This meeting just didn't come out of thin air....there MUST have been other earlier correspondence about what Steele was doing.

Don't forget....the FBI inserted moles.

Andrew Weissmann, a wicked little snake who been abusing power for years. If anyone has earned a no knock raid at 5:00 am it’s this piece of excrement.

So?

~~~
I agree.
Most of us where were paying attention to the election had already heard rumors about this supposed dossier that no one was publishing (yet). It took no mental effort at all to assume that if the deep state wasn’t previously involved with it that they were definitely going to make it their business to find out everything they could from it.
Well it turns out perhaps that the shadowy involvement was just as true as chasing it down. The only problem was that back at that time, those who were proposing such possibilities sounded like kook conspiracy theorists.
The problem is that headlines like this don’t put the whole thing into context and frame it up in these terms
And since the dossier was under the auspices of Hillary, this is Watergate to the nth degree.
The phrase "Opposition Research" suddenly arises as the explanation.
Dismiss EVERYONE and stop this fraud
Follow up with prosecutions of all involved. For treason, yes.
If any of Mueller’s deputies were in on the attempt to smear President Trump (or candidate Trump), and Mueller knew about their collusion to get Trump, then, Mueller himself was/is part of the plot to get Trump. It would mean that Mueller himself is completely corrupt and should never have been allowed to conduct an investigation in which he himself was vested in getting rid of Trump.
Now, 2 years later, Mueller hasn’t ended the investigations, and can’t bring himself to admit that the whole thing was a sham. Perhaps he fears that he too will be implicated in the hoax and could face charges. He’s trying to figure out a way out of the mess he finds himself in.
It's likely that he'd wait until after the SOTU to comment but I can't wait to hear what Joe DiGenova thinks of this!
The gang of 8 not only was kept aware of all this, they fully supported it. Now not only the gang of 8 are still supporting this, the vast majority of congress and all government agencies are as well. The prof is that they have not done anything but continue to praise mueller, they have all stated that mueller must be allowed to finish his work. “His work” being to bring down Trump.
For starters, it’s strong evidence that Weissmann is conflicted to hell and back, making all of his actions afterwards highly unlawful.
It illustrates Weissman’s conflict of interest. He’s a witness.
EVERYONE knew then and knows now that the COLLUSION was Clinton with the help of the Obama Administration. It is sickening that this charade goes on and on as it very well may help the Washington swamp coup complete its mission.
