2: He got his yearbook - so he would have seen the pictures and had plenty of time to object to them.
He probably did not get the yearbook until months later, and may never have looked at it (and not everyone gets a yearbook!).
Just because he submitted pictures does not mean he submitted that picture!
Yearbooks are generally done by volunteers and amateurs. Easy to make mistakes.
And it would have quickly been brought to his attention by those who did get the yearbook.
