At some point, automated systems will outperform humans at a great many, if not most, tasks. This should free up human resources to do high level things for high pay. And what about those humans who are not capable of doing high level things for high pay?
What we may find ourselves encountering, is an increasing percentage of the human population not being able to do anything that would pay enough to feed them.
