I do not condemn my country or my church because certain evil beings run it.

A long time ago I separated the Catholic religion from the church. That's why I call myself a Catholic, but not a Practicing Catholic. It's important that the Church survive, not the individuals currently in charge (for the last XXX hundred years, but you get the idea.)

I am a Protestant within the Catholic Church. I’ll believe what I know is the truth, and protest against those who are wrong.

But I’ll never leave.

But I have no problem with priestly celebracy, nor the same for nuns (or even having nuns), nor the Mass, nor do I have a problem with respecting Mary, or the saints, although I will only worship God the Trinity,

I have no issue with having a head of the church, any more than the president of the Untied States, but can despise the man in office, while still respecting the office.

I have deeply studied the history of Christianity and am saddened by the split of 500 years ago, but understand it is not of God but of man.

Yet killing babies, while or after they’ve born?

On purpose, so they are dead and not a bother, or, as some will say, not having the full “quality of life”? What pompous inhumanity!

What evil! It MUST be opposed. And not just by Catholics or even greater Christianity, or I say Christians, but by any and all Americans, and indeed, humans.

It sounds as if you attend the church for fellowship which is great. Our pastor hammers all of the issues although surprisingly he did not bring up abortion today.

Even in Portlandia his church is bursting at the seams since people are starving for the truth. Many churches are missing a real opportunity to bring people in by watering down the Word.

Again, I do respect your allegiance to the “Church”. I just couldn’t swallow the hypocrisy of the leadership. I served as an altar boy decades ago when I was told I would go to hell for eating meat on Friday. I lost my conviction but I am happy that you didn’t.

Allow me to be so rude as to talk about Recovering Ex-hippie as if he weren’t here.

Cause he treated me so rudely.

He says I don’t accept the decades of sexual abuse that has gone on for decades in the Catholic church.

On he goes to say there is some Gay mafia.

AB, if I knew of one single priest that was abusing anyone I would form a protest of my own and began a massive march.

The exhippie guy, well he knows everything but he says I ignore it. Again talking as if I am not present.

Of course I don’t know all the priests in the country. But I know about as many as most people. I don’t know of any that are sexual abusers but if I did, I’d react.

I am not going to join some guy and boycott my church as demanded by a guy that is the equivalent of that Native American drum player here on FreeRepublic JUST BECAUSE HE SAYS SO!!!!!!

Anyway, AB, speaking to you rudely about this exhippie guy, then he says I am an example of Catholics who ignore this stuff.

You are kind, AB, trying to explain intelligently about why you, and many millions of others, are Catholic and want to remain that way.

And because of this, they infer that you somehow are in favor of sexual abuse.

Just like the liberals of today it would seem. Accuse someone of inaction or not caring if they don’t do what you think they should do.

Seems the exhippie is still a non-thinking hippie.

Thank you Mr. Chandler.

It’s cowardly and rude.

And oh, yeah, I picked up on it.

Gave it right back to him.

Well I can say that in a community I lived it was well known the Catholic Priest there had taken in a male kid on hard times and groomed him to become his “companion”. I asked a catholic why this was possible and they said it was just accepted and nobody would say anything even though everyone knew what was going on....they didn’t want to loose the Priest they liked.

It was just an opinion, my view of the Catholic church’s reluctance in coming out forthright about its problems as an “institution” and the majority of the laity not holding it accountable.

As for Baby Killing...the Church as an Institution or even its representatives (clergy)are not in public outrage. That is just a fact.

BTW, thank you for your kind suggestion.

I’d LOVE to see Tom BRADY wear his red MAGA hat during the nationally televised post-Super Bowl interview on the field.

And, later, the GOP attendees at the 2019 SOTU Message wear red MAGA hats, too.

Mr. Fairfax made his first bid for public office in 2013, running a close second in the Democratic primary for attorney general. He is in the liberal mainstream of the party on most policy issues, from gun control and abortion rights to addressing climate change and raising the minimum wage.

Somehow this does not appear to be written properly. This would make more sense

He is in the Nazi mainstream of the party on most policy issues, from confiscating guns so the general population cannot defend itself and in favor of killing babies whenever the Party chooses, to imposing confiscatory taxes and driving people out of business with mandated pay scales for their buddies

We had less than 50 miles of open desert to Baghdad, with the entire Republican Guard broken and behind us that day.

Looking back at history one more Time - Lincoln had to go through a number of Generals before he settled on Grant, and Grant settled on Sherman. Sherman new a thing or two about how to end a war in a short time.

The Bushes are/were no Lincolns
