If Northam stays, Virginia will go back to Republicans in 2020. Northam cannot effectively campaign for or endorse any Dem nominee with this hanging over his head & Trump will take full advantage of it.
No, Virginia is gone. Any Dem will win VA in 2020. VA is not going back to Rep any more than CA is.
