How can most people that are, remain Democrats? I just don’t get the rationale.

Try this one on for size. How can a majority of Catholic voters, who belong to a church that officially teaches that abortion is a mortal sin that will condemn one to Hell, vote for Democrats year after year after bloody year?

It was mainly Catholic voters who kept sending Teddy the Swimmer back to the U.S. Senate for 3+ decades.

I’d bet that Cuomo gets as many or more Catholic votes in the next election.

Most Catholics are born Catholic, they didn’t arrive at a decision to become a Catholic. One has to decide to be a Christian, not inherit Christianity from their parents.

We see a lot of this in non-Catholic denominations also. A large contingent of church “members” and church goers are not at all Christians, just club members.

Evangelists tend to vote conservative heavily lopsided, but still about 20% of us vote for unGodliness.
